History of Coach Bags Authentic Buyer Tips

Every Coach Bag Line: A Complete Walkthrough

Founded in 1941, Coach originally made men’s small leather goods, while women’s handbags arrived later and eventually became the core of the brand. At present, coach handbags run from structured shoulder bags and soft hobos to satchels, carryalls, crossbodies and reissued archive designs. Each and every key line is covered in turn in this guide, with a look at what the bag is, when it appeared and how it is constructed. A number of popular lines have no reliable launch year on record, so dates appear here only where they are documented.

Instead of being taken from an official price list, the prices in this guide are observed market prices from 2026, and size, material and promotions all move them up or down. A shopper picking a first coach bag should know that similar names can refer to completely different designs. A search for “couch bag”, which certain shoppers type when looking for a Coach bag, can bring furniture listings into the results since that word also describes a sofa or settee.

Tabby

The Tabby is a firm-bodied shoulder bag which works as a crossbody, with detachable straps and Signature “C” hardware. Designer Stuart Vevers brought it out in 2019, and its silhouette was drawn from Coach’s 1970s archive. The campaign that launched it, called “Dream It Real”, was reportedly photographed by Juergen Teller. The base product name is Tabby Shoulder Bag, and sizes 20, 26 and 36 have been listed.

Next, in 2021, the padded Pillow Tabby joined the line, listed under names such as Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With Pillow Quilting. Observed prices for the Tabby 26 came to $475 in the US and £475 in the UK; quilted and special-edition versions were listed higher. Its easy switch between shoulder and crossbody wear makes it a good fit for buyers who want one bag for both day and evening.

The Brooklyn

The Brooklyn is a slouchy coach shoulder bag in natural-grain leather, much closer to a hobo than to the structured Tabby. It first appeared on the Fall 2024 runway and went on sale in August 2024. Two main sizes have been reported, the Brooklyn coach student discount 28 and the bigger Brooklyn 39. The 39 is described as roomy enough for a 15-inch laptop, which makes it a workable work bag.

Reports for Spring 2026 pointed to a newer Brooklyn Carryall shape, but it is separate from the shoulder styles. At John Lewis in the UK, the Brooklyn 28 had an observed price of £350. When The RealReal’s 2025 resale report said searches for Coach had jumped 160%, the Brooklyn was one of the bags cited, though that figure tracks searches rather than resale prices.

The Rogue Line

Made with top handles and a shoulder strap, the Rogue is Coach’s structured satchel. Introduced on the Fall 2016 runway, the bag was later discontinued; a 2021 relaunch revived it. The line sits at the very top of Coach’s leather range, with versions in regenerative leather and exotic skins. With an observed price of $8,000, a Rogue 25 in alligator marked the highest Coach bag price observed in 2026.

A Made-to-Order Rogue is also offered by Coach, which has reportedly taken about 12 weeks, rising to roughly 16 weeks with exotic materials. Coach (Re)Loved, the brand’s own repair and resale program, has offered restored Rogue bags. For a lot of collectors, the Rogue illustrates how far upmarket Coach craftsmanship can go.

The Empire Carryall Family

Offered as the Empire Carryall Bag 34, the Empire Carryall is a lengthened, east-west bag with top handles. It was presented on Coach’s Fall 2024 runway and put on sale in February 2025. Fashion press reported that it was sold out on its release day. Softer variants called Soft Empire, including a Soft Empire 40, are different styles from the structured Carryall 34.

The Empire Carryall 34 was observed selling for £475 on Coach’s own site in the UK. For everyday carrying, the long top-handle shape provides a more polished alternative to a coach tote bag. While comparing listings, look at the number that follows the name: 34 and 40 are different bags.

Kisslock Variants Compared: Frame, Dreamer and Barrel

Coach associates the Kisslock motif with the Bonnie Cashin era; the name refers to a frame clasp inspired by vintage coin purses. Take care not to mix up the various bags that share the word. The Kisslock Frame Bag in glovetanned leather was reported as the look that opened the Fall 2026 show with an observed price of $350. Since earlier Kisslock Frame versions also appear in listings, the family could be older than that show.

Made with quilted nappa leather and rivets, the Kisslock Dreamer 21 is an older style, today found mainly as restored or upcrafted pieces through Coach (Re)Loved. Drawn from a 1973 design, the Kisslock Barrel Bag is a Spring 2026 Coach Originals reissue. The name picked up yet another use as a Kisslock Backpack was also shown for Fall 2026.

Swinger, Swing Zip and The Coach Originals

Styles from The Coach Originals are new rather than vintage: the line is built on newly made reissues of archive designs. A short-strap, zip-top shoulder bag fitted with a turnlock, the Swinger has an original design that Coach dates to 1987. Today’s version is the Swinger Bag 20, which is also sold With Chain and in Signature canvas or jacquard. Based on a 1998 design, the Swing Zip is a separate Coach Originals bag, which means the two names should not be swapped.

The Safari Bag from 1968, the Dinky from 1974 and the Hamptons Hobo from 2005 also featured among the Originals reported in early 2025. By 2020, the Coach Originals name was reportedly in circulation. For buyers who want an archive look without the wear of a properly vintage piece, the line is a good fit.

Soho Decoded: Bag 25, Flap and Sneaker

Covering three different products, Soho counts among the most confusing names in the Coach catalog. Back in 2006, the original Soho Flap made its debut. Unlike that 2006 bag, the Soho Bag 25 is a more compact, newer reissue, produced in materials such as glovetanned leather, patent leather and crystal jacquard. A Soho Flap Bag in regenerative leather has also been listed, and Soho styles sit within The Coach Originals.

On the other hand, the Soho Sneaker is footwear that Coach has featured in 2025 and 2026, putting it among shoes and coach clothing rather than handbags. A search that includes “Bag 25” or “Flap” tends to separate the bags from the shoe. No reliable current price for the Soho bags was captured, so look at Coach’s own website before buying.

Willow, Cassie and Juliet Side by Side

None of these three lines has a documented launch year, recognizable as they are, so be cautious about any date you see online. Willow is a pebble-leather family that has included the Willow Tote 24, a Willow Bucket and a Willow Shoulder bag. Coach’s own website has also offered a Custom Willow Tote, and the Willow Tote 24 is a clear example of a coach tote bag. The Cassie Crossbody Bag 19, with a Signature turnlock and interchangeable straps, sits within Cassie, a crossbody and top-handle design.

Under newer style codes, Cassie styles have kept appearing on Coach’s own website. Juliet is a slouchy shoulder bag in glovetanned leather, offered in versions such as the Juliet Shoulder Bag 25 and the Pocket Juliet Bag 30. Because availability changes by season, confirm whether a given Willow, Cassie or Juliet style is still current before relying on an older review.

Observed Prices: Each Line at a Glance

For every main line, the table below sets out the shape, the key date and, where one was reliably captured, an observed 2026 price. These are observed market prices, not an official Coach price list, and they change with size, material, color and promotions. UK prices include VAT, while US prices do not include sales tax. Full-price styles may be marked down during sales, and a coach outlet runs its own promotions on outlet styles.

Coach Outlet is Coach’s own official channel, available through outlet stores and an official online outlet section on Coach’s own website. In 2014, Coach’s head of investor relations was quoted as saying about 85% of outlet merchandise was made specifically for the outlet channel. Tapestry has since talked about bringing some full-price collection product into outlets, and the figure itself is dated. A full-price coach store or Coach’s own website remains the place to look for current-season lines.
