Insights into contemporary performing arts

Organized by LAC and FIT Festival and curated by the series working group
Sguardi sul contemporaneo
publications that intend to act as a space for reflection and sharing on contemporary theatre.

The origin project
Born on the occasion of the 25th edition of the International Festival of Theater and Contemporary Scene in 2016, the FIT Notebooks (now Glimpses on the Contemporary) develop in-depth studies on the themes suggested by the Festival.
A discussion table between artists, operators and critics and at the same time a tool to return to thinking about theater and theatre, from a dual point of view: that of critical/theoretical perspectives and that of the different practices of the scene.
From year to year, each volume of the series focuses on the professionalism and areas that make up the varied mosaic of the performing arts.

In this meeting, artists, directors and curators will question each other in an open dialogue between them and the public on these topics, between theoretical perspectives and field experiences.

Research, transmission, canon

Innovation often arises from the rejection or demolition of one canon, but often ends up affirming another.
The cycles of experimentation, between energetic waves and natural exhaustion, seem to have required very rapid rhythms, with the risk of absorbing and then quickly burning the forms of the new. Is it possible, in this context, to keep the field of research fertile and vital? And what role can transmission have, that is, the passage of knowledge that has not yet been codified?

The publication was born from an idea by Carmelo Rifici and Paola Tripoli and is edited by Maddalena Giovannelli and Francesca Serrazanetti
