In her journey Raissa Avilés, a Swiss artist with Mexican roots, has explored various fields of the performing arts – from physical theatre, to drama and music – creating her own projects and working as a performer both nationally and internationally.
The voice is at the heart of her artistic practice. Throughout her career, she has focused particularly on site-specific theatre and possible formats that investigate the relationship between music, use of the voice and movement. Her most recent works include two “expanded concerts” – Maybe a concert (at FIT 2026) and La Maria, o la espeluznante seducción de una canción de amor – in which she explores, deconstructs and reconstructs the concept of the concert and the songs in her repertoire.
Trained in Physical Theatre and Acting in Spain and Switzerland, she holds a diploma in Dramatic Corporeal Mime from Moveo Teatro in Barcelona and in Meisner Technique with Javier Galitó-Cava in Barcelona. In 2014, she completed her Master’s degree at the Dimitri Academy in Verscio, Switzerland. She also trained as a Functional Voice Training® instructor with Javi Prieto in Barcelona. She currently performs as a singer-performer in U. (Un canto) by Alessandro Sciarroni.
