Sergi Casero y 'No pares (sigue, sigue)': esfuerzo, superación y teatro | rne audio

ESCUCHA

No pares (sigue, sigue) motivational and energetic anthem, in the merengue hip hop-style of Proyecto Uno, explores the personal condition of resistance to overload with a post-modern approach in the hyperreality of a spinning class set. The action plays on elements of repetition and resilience, involving the audience in a hypnotic and enthusiastic cycle of action and response.
If it evokes the theme of recent forms of cultural resistance and the collective strength that would emerge from shared rhythm and movement, the work instead highlights the sadness of some new feelings as a sort of FOMO of the self, a sort of tension towards continuous and accelerated self-realization. Of this hyper-self-entertainment No pares expresses a collective and ritualistic version. MORE

How come we never stop? A modern Sisyphus takes on capitalism on his stationary bike.

Sergi pedals incessantly on a stationary bike, to the seductive rhythm of house-merengue beats. The euphoric music urges him, through both joy and pain, to push himself further and further. In any case, he has no choice. Chained to his bicycle, he is forbidden to stop. Following El Pacto del Olvido, presented at FIT in 2025, this time Sergi Casero Nieto explores the insidious neo-capitalist imperative summed up by the slogan “Produce! Enjoy! Improve yourself and smile!”. An unattainable task that breeds chronic dissatisfaction.

This ironic and invigorating performance is an invitation to imagine ways out of the cycle of productivity, also through poetic and utopian strategies, in which rampant individualism is replaced by collective and liberating solutions.
