MORE

Aïchoucha

TN

immersive film concert
Swiss premiere
1h15

A rare immersive experience that is at once intimate, poetic, & deeply contemporary.

Aïchoucha – says Hentati– is what we affectionately called my grandma Aïcha. When I was a child, she would lull me to sleep with her songs and enchant me with her stories. Her life, through her loving gestures and her wisdom, has always struck me as a work of art in itself, a sublime hymn to existence.

This immersive audio-visual performance springs from those memories. A journey through time and space, exploring and reinterpreting traditional Tunisian music through synthesisers, recordings, cassettes, CDs and vinyl records. An enveloping sensory experience enhanced by a panoramic projection of a film the artist himself shot during a trip through his homeland.
