A list of the absurd questions Brecht had to answer forms the starting point for the performance. Exile, trials for subversion, the humanist haven of an untraceable elsewhere, the finding that a supposedly democratic country can also practise censorship; these are some of the themes running through <em>Four Walls and a Roof<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Based on their own voluntary emigration from Beirut to Berlin, the artistic duo \u2013<strong> Theaterpreis Berlin 2026<\/strong> \u2013 use a playful approach to examine the misfortunes of a great idealist and articulate political reflections on the present, making us question how free and open our reality is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brecht, censorship, democracy, and exile today.
