Mar\u00eda del Mar Su\u00e1rez, known as \u201cLa Chachi\u201d, graduated as an actress and dancer in Malaga, her hometown. Trained in flamenco with La Lupi, she has been developing since 2008 a singular trstage language that combines flamenco, physical theatre, dramaturgy, and contemporary dance. She belongs to a generation of artists who are renewing flamenco \u2013 alongside El Ni\u00f1o de Elche, Israel Galv\u00e1n and Roc\u00edo Molina \u2013 by pushing it towards experimental and contemporary forms.<\/p>\n
Her solo\u00a0La gram\u00e1tica de los mam\u00edferos<\/em>\u00a0received several distinctions, including three Premios PAD <\/strong>(Mejor Espect\u00e1culo, Mejor Interprete and Mejor Espect\u00e1culo de Guerrilla \/ sin subvenci\u00f3n) in 2017 and the Premio Lorca int\u00e9rprete femenina <\/strong>in 2018. She further consolidated her international recognition with Los Inescalables Alpes, buscando a Currito <\/em>(Godot Dance Award<\/strong> 2022) which toured extensively and is featured in the FIT 2026 programme. With Taranto Aleatorio<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0L\u00e2s Alegr\u00edas Aleatorias<\/em>, she explores traditional forms of the flamenco\u00a0tablao<\/em> in an experimental approach (the traditional space where flamenco is performed).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
