Born in Beirut, Lina Majdalanie lives and works in Berlin. Her work questions citizenship, the place of the human being in the public space and, more specifically, that of the body in the age of globalisation, the Internet, the virtual image and the surveillance society.<\/p>\n
Her works include: Four Walls and a Roof<\/em> (2024, al FIT 2026), Hartaq\u0101t<\/em> (2023), Second Look<\/em> (series of video, 2020), Sunny Sunday<\/em> (2020), Borborygmus<\/em> (2019), Do I Know you?<\/em> (2017), 33 RPM and a Few Seconds <\/em>(2012), Photo Romance <\/em>(2009), Appendice <\/em>(2007), Lina Saneh Body-P-Arts Project<\/em> (a 2007 website project transformed into an installation in 2009), I Had a Dream, Mom<\/em> (video, 2006), Biokhraphia<\/em> (2002).<\/p>\n She has also curated projects such as\u00a0Motion-Less<\/em>\u00a0(Tanz-quartier, Vienna, 2009),\u00a0Vues<\/em>\u00a0(Kunsthalle, Mulhouse, 2015),\u00a0Beyond Beirut\u00a0<\/em>(Mousonturm, Frankfurt, 2016),\u00a0Relatively universal<\/em>\u00a0(HAU, Berlin, 2017) and\u00a0No One’s Land\u00a0<\/em>(Claiming Common Spaces V, Mousonturm-Frankfurt, 2023).<\/p>\n She was a member of the curriculum committee for the Home Workspace Program Ashkal Alwan. She has taught at the Haute Ecole d\u2019Art et de Design in Genf, at DasArts in Amsterdam, Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universit\u00e4t Frankfurt, HEAD (Geneva), HFG-Karlsruhe, Universita\u0308t Leipzig, Ruhr-Universit\u00e4t Bochum, and others. In 2009, she was the recipient of a scholarship from the International Research Center \u201cInterweaving Performance Cultures\u201d at Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin.<\/p>\n Lina Majdalanie has been working with Lebanese actor, director, playwright and visual artist Rabih Mrou\u00e9<\/span><\/a> since 1990 as theatre directors, performers, and playwrights. Collaboratively they have curated numerous cultural events, taught at universities worldwide, and received several international awards and recently they got the Theaterpreis Berlin 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n@ FIT
